THE INSTRUCTOR
Beverly Gilbert Stone
Hi,
I will be your instructor for this course. I have been involved with Adult Education and Workforce Development in Waldo County, Maine for over 20 years.
I graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1971 with a Bachelor's Degree in Premed/Zoology and a teaching certificate.
I earned my Master's Degree in Counseling in 1995 through Liberty University School of LifeLong Learning.
I am currently working toward my Doctorate in Human Resource Management.
My teaching certificate is in the Sciences but I have extensive experience teaching English, Basic Math, Computer Skills and Career Exploration as well.
I don't want to bore you with my life story but if you have further questions about me, email and ask.
Distance Learning can be liberating, allowing you to learn when it is convenient for you BUT it can also feel very distant. Furthermore, this class is technically an Independent Study which can even feel further isolated. It is hard to keep up your motivation but you can if you try. Create a schedule in your calendar just as if your class were in a physical space. You might find it easier to accomplish, if you schedule the time.
I desire and encourage your communication, not only when you are emailing assignments but also when you have questions and problems.
