Welcome to Science Topics!

My name is Beverly Stone. I will be providing the instruction for this course. It will be a little different than you are used to because we probably won't ever meet in person. However, I am a real person and I have a real interest in each and every student taking this course.

This course was written by Julie Watkins and you will be linking to several of her pages. Do not worry, just remember to email me, Beverly Stone, bstone@acadia.net

My first suggestion is: READ EVERYTHING! You will need to do a lot of reading to keep up with this course. All of the instructions and assignments are written on this web site, so please read carefully.

When the course begins, you will have access to all of the information that you will need to complete this course. On most pages that you visit, you will see the white box in the upper right hand corner. These are the pages that you will need most frequently. When the white box is not present, click on your Browser's Back button to return to the previous page.

Every week, you will be required to Log In your attendance. Just click on Log In and follow the instructions on that page.

The Syllabus contains detailed instructions for completing the course. I will be strict and you must follow these instructions carefully. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I don't expect you to know how to do everything all at once. I like questions and will answer them promptly.

The Assignments page contain links to all of the weeks' assignments. When you get rolling in the course, this is the page to go to for the week's assignment.

If you feel overwhelmed at first, that is natural. Once you understand how the course works, things will be easier for you. Remember: I want you to be successful and to have a good time learning about science.

I am looking forward to working with you throughout this course!
